screen480x480.jpeg
jessmJess: One of my favorite Days of Wonder games has received the digital treatment. You can now play Splendor on your phone or tablet!

The game offers all of the fun of the original board game with with new scenario based challenges where you must play to achieve a goal such as earn a number of points or get a special card combo. You can play with 2 to 4 players or go it alone in solo mode. The game also comes with variable AI’s so you can tailor the difficulty of your game. As you play you can rank up on the leader boards to see who is the most splendorous merchant to ever trade in the wild world of gems.

You can pick up a copy of Splendor for $6.99 on the iOS or Android app store.

Days of Wonder Commemorates VE-Day With New Memoir ’44 Scenarios

Richard Borg and Days of Wonder have announced that they are releasing four new scenarios for Memoir ’44 in honor of VE-Day on May 8th: Hatten & Rittershoefen, Riechswald & Nutterden, Hitdorf, and Seelow Heights.

The date marks the end of WWII in Europe when the allies accepted Nazi Germany’s surrender. The scenarios are available on the Days of Wonder website as PDFs or you can get them from the Days of Wonder store for the cost of shipping. The scenarios do require additional expansions and the Seelow Heights Overload scenario requires an additional copy of the game.

jessm Jess: While it kinda sucks for new players that the scenarios require more than just the base game, most long-time fans will already have the required components. And hey, the scenarios being free makes this a really nice gift to commemorate the day.

The elusive artisans of the Sultanate of Naqala craft treasures and unique artifacts that make even the most shrewd trader take pause. The tribe of Naqala has joined Days of Wonder’s Five Tribes in the The Artisans of Naqala expansion; adding new ways to win the game. Players will now be able to craft mysterious and magical items that give victory points or special powers.

jessm Jess: Oh yeah! I love crafting things!
andysm Andrew: Put the hot glue gun down!

The expansion also comes with new tiles including Workshops, where the Artisans craft their Items, Specialized Markets, and a Chasm tile, that is impossible to pass though. There are also mountain markers to add complications to your strategy. The Artisans of Naqala also comes with two new Djinn and two revised Djinn.

The expansion is expected to be available in early August at GenCon and the expected retail price is $25.

Celebrate TableTop Day With a New Promo Djinn Card for Five Tribes!

If you are going to your local game store to enjoy the third annual International TableTop Day, you are in for a treat. Days of Wonder is including a Promo Djinn card for Five Tribes called the Wilwit Djinn in their Game Kit. You could end up winning a copy by participating in on of the many gaming events happening that day.

Days of Wonder also stated that the card might show up on their website or social network platforms for those people who can’t join the TableTop party on April 11th.

jessm Jess: Since Days of Wonder made the awesome choice to remove slaves from the game, I can only hope that the Wilwit Djinn only accepts D20’s and Star Trek DVDs as sacrifices for summoning. As it is, check out the graphic for the djinn below! Kickass!
