Kill Dr. Lucky Review

jessmToday we review Kill Dr. lucky the 19.5th Anniversary Edition. Considering Dr. Lucky has been getting stabbed, poisoned, and otherwise rendered post-living, for almost 20 years, it might come as a surprise that none of the Gameosity team had ever played before. Read on to see if we nefariously murder the famed Doctor or if his luck holds out and he distracts our deadly intentions with his adorable cat.

andysmAndrew:  Of course there is an adorable cat.

jessmJess:  It may be adorable, but it may not be cute enough to prevent ::ominous thundercrack:: MURDER!!!

A murder most fun!

Hamlet Builder Pro 5000 in all its prototypey glory! Let's plant some tiles!

(Kickstarter prototype heads-up thingie: The Gamecrafter sent us this prototype for review.  No telling what kind of changes to art and components there might be during/after the Kickstarter.  DON’T SAY WE DIDN’T WARN YOU!!!)

jessmJessHamlet Builder Pro 5000?  Did a case of SURGE! get delivered to the Shire or something?

andysmAndrew:  I know, right?  X-treme town-building seems like, well, it’s hard to picture, frankly.

robsmRob:  Wait, this game isn’t about constructing the most effective Danish prince you can?

andysmAndrew:  What are you…oh, I get it.  No, not that Hamlet.

robsmRob:  Ah, nuts.  But tell me you wouldn’t play that game.

andysmAndrew:  I’d play the crap out of that game.  My Hamlet has +3 to Brooding!

robsmRob:  Yeah?  Well mine has +5 Skull-Finding.  My poison resistance is still zero, though.

andysmAndrewEveryone’s poison resistance is zero.

jessmJess:  Uh, boys?  Review time?

Cthulhu Fluxx Review

dianasmOnce upon a time, I loved Fluxx. Once upon a time, my board game experience was also limited to Monopoly, Life, and Munchkin. Many years and many board games later, my interest has cooled somewhat, and it seems that my gaming partners have the same tepid feelings toward Fluxx as I do. By why? It’s not a bad game. It’s a good little ice-breaker and it’s good for the casual player, so why the general feeling of “meh” when it is suggested? It’s because a game of Fluxx usually goes one of two ways.

Is there an Old One for mediocrity?

Fleet Review – Deep Sea Engine Building Excellence

andysmAndrew:  Ok everyone, I really want to review Fleet.

jessmJess:  Heck yeah!  We really hauled in a marlin with this game!

dianasmDiana:  Wouldn’t want this to be the review that got away!

robsmRob:  I’d never say this game was fishing for compliments – it’s no shrimp.

andysmAndrew:  Ugh, guys, please, you know I hate-

robsmRob:  Sorry chum, didn’t mean to bait you.

andysmAndrew:  ALWAYS WITH THE PUNS!

Full disclosure: That's my Fleet Big Box, not the standard.

Hogger Logger Review

Today, we are going to be taking a look at Hogger Logger from (appropriately enough) Hogger Logger LLC.

jessmJess:  Is that a pig who is also a lumberjack?

andysmAndrew:  Yes it is.

jessmJess:  That’s awesome!

andysmAndrew:  Well, I’m glad you think so, because that’s kinda the best thing about this game.

For a game with a lumberjack pig on the cover, it just isn't...*meaty* enough.

Dicey Curves Review

andysm Andrew: Today, Gameosity gets behind the tiny wheel of a tiny race car in Dicey Curves, a dice-rolling car racing game designed by Matt Worden and published by The Game Crafter.

Can a board game really harness the raw, primal feeling of tearing down the highway and, conversely, can it overcome the paralytic wave of boredom I feel whenever I accidentally watch NASCAR for any length of time?  (I know, millions of people love NASCAR.  And to them, I say…sorry, I dozed off, what were we talking about?)

Most games probably can’t.  But what about Dicey Curves?

Sorry about the lens flare. Just imagine it's a racing game directed by Michael Bay or something. No, I take that back. That's not fair to Dicey Curves at all.
